Instructions

Please read the instructions thoroughly before collecting your sample. Follow all of the steps accordingly in numbered order to ensure accurate results.

Is the patient to test over the age of 18?

For patients ages 2 to 18, testing should be done by a health care professional. If the patient falls under this category, please initiate a video call with our medical providers before taking the test

Before opening the kit, make sure to blow your nose and cleanse hands thoroughly. Next, lay items out on a clean surface. Open the sealed swab and carefully remove it without touching the cotton end of the swab.

Insert the tip of the cotton swab into 1 nostril. You should not be able to see the cotton end once inserted. Swirl the swab in a circular motion at least 5 times to ensure accurate results

Take the cotton swab out of your nostril. Using the same end of the cotton swab, repeat step 4 in your other nostril.

Remove white cap of collection tube and immerse test swab in liquid.

Check the buffer solution volume in the vial. If the vial is empty, DO NOT use and obtain a new buffer solution vial. The buffer solution vial cap is composed of two parts (purple and white).

 

 

Remove the entire cap. Slightly tilt the vial to ensure the swab tip is fully submerged into the solution.

 

 

Twist the swab back and forth 20 times in the buffer solution. Roll the swab head against the inner wall of the vial to release the liquid from the swab, then discard the swab.

Collect the buffer fluid at the bottom of the test tube by shaking it and then peel off the seal of the test tube.

 

Put the tip of swab into the tube and move the swab up and down at least 10 times.

Remove the entire cap of the collection tube and immerse the test swab in the liquid.

 

Carefully plunge swab up and down for 15 seconds. Do not spill contents or contaminate the swab.

Collect the buffer fluid at the bottom of the test tube by shaking it and then peel off the seal of the test tube.

 

Put the tip of swab into the tube and move the swab up and down at least 10 times.

Close the entire vial cap tightly.

Squeeze the tube while removing the swab to squeeze out as much liquid from the swab as possible.

Remove the test swab while squeezing the tube and pressing and rotating the swab tip against the inside wall of the tube to extract the liquid.

Push the swab all the way to the bottom of the vial and leave for 1 minute.

Remove the purple top half of the cap to expose the dropper tip.

Put the filter cap on the test tube

Discard the swab and close the tube tightly. Remove the clear tip of the cap to expose the dropper.

Squeeze the tube while removing the swab to squeeze out as much liquid from the swab as possible. Following this, discard the swab and open the cassette package.

Discard the swab and close the tube using the clear dropper tip. Remove test device from foil pouch and lay it on a flat surface. Invert the capped collection tube and tap the side to remove air bubbles from the dropper tip. Hold the tube vertically, 1/4 inch above the device. Squeezing gently, dispense all of the sample solution into the sample well. Adding fewer drops may produce invalid or inaccurate results.

Place the test device on a flat surface. Slowly squeeze and drip 3 drops of the solution into the circular opening of the test device. No more, no less.

Place test cassette flat on a level surface and pour all liquid content gently into the cassette well. It is normal for some of the liquid to remain in the bottom of the vial.
